chase in nicaragua

follow my adventures and journeys in managua, nicaragua, as i work with manna project international, loving and living.

in a little bit more than 175 hours i’ll be heading for the airport to start my trek to central america. i have a lot of stuff to do before then- books to finish, people to see, things to eat- but most of all, i need to start mentally preparing. i need to get my life centered and steady (stand firm and let nothing move me, -1 cor 15:58) and my journal ready.

what is this summer going to have in store for me? will i have a life changing experience? or will it add to the orchestrated themes of my life, accenting the nuance of an instrument in the canon of my life? will i learn spanish to the point where i’m fluent? (doubt it)

i’ve been daydreaming a lot about who i’ll grow close to and who i’ll be paired up with for daily duties. it’s also weird because kyle, one of the coolest guys i’ve ever met (but then again, that can be said about any of the PD’s) will not be there when i’m down there.

as of right now, at 3:33am on a tuesday morning, i have a great deal of anticipation for nicaragua. no insomniatic nights, no fox news, no days wasted because i have the luxury of doing nothing. i’m ready to grow, ready to take another step closer to being the man that God has called me to be.

but it’s super late, and it’s raining outside-which means it’s time for me to fall asleep to the sound of rain and wind up at a mile high.
